Yumna's Speaker Demo Reel

About Yumna...

I would have never thought that in a million years that I would ever become a public speaker. I was extremely shy for a large part of my life growing up. I was so incredibly shy that I couldn't even order food in the food court for myself because I was too afraid to talk to people. So I would give my food money to my sister to order food for me.

There was a point in my life when I was a teenager and I thought "enough is enough." I want to be successful and I desperately need to increase my confidence. So I decided to take a debating class in high school called MUN (Model United Nations). I was really bad in the beginning and my heart would race like crazy standing up there and doing public speaking. However with determination, I got better and my confidence started to improve. I eventually got picked as part of the top 12 in my MUN class to represent our school in Haileybury in England.

In college, I then joined the network marketing industry. I couldn't sell to save my life. However, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and even though I was scared to approach people about my products, I bit the bullet and did it anyway. I eventually became the highest ranked woman in South Africa in terms of sales for the company. I started doing motivational and leadership training for my team. That's when I realized that I have a deep passion for helping people and I absolutely loved doing motivational speaking. And that's where the spark was ignited.

I left the network marketing industry and after that I felt extremely stuck in my life. My “Aha Moment” took place during a dark time in my life. Before I even started my current coaching company and professionally speaking, I went through a really bad depression because I felt extremely lost and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life especially when it came to my career. I was so depressed that I started having very dark thoughts including suicidal thoughts. When I was in high school, our English teacher asked us, “What are you most afraid of?” And I said that what I am most afraid of is “Losing myself.” I bring this high school experience up because just before I started my coaching company, I felt like I was losing myself — that number one fear was popping up.

What I found was that through blogging, vlogging, and publicly speaking about everything and anything inspirational was a great outlet for me. Not only did it inspire me, but it started inspiring others. This started my journey of navigating out of depression and into a place of hope. What I found was that a lot of people were feeling the same way I was feeling. That lost feeling and not knowing what that next step may be in their life. Feeling stuck with no hope in sight. Those were the very same feelings I was feeling. So I used my journey that I went through to get out of depression as a platform to help other people who were in a similar place to where I was at one point in my life. I now help people through motivational speaking and coaching to live a life that they can't wait to wake up to and live every single day and be that lighthouse and beacon of hope for others.

How to successfully ride the emotional highs and lows of being an entrepreneur.

Riding the entrepreneur roller coaster is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

It's unpredictable, scary, but so exciting and fulfilling at the same time. It allows you to leave a very powerful lasting legacy. There will be many moments where you want to desperately get off of the roller-coaster, but this speech will equip you with ammo that you need in order to anticipate what will happen during this entrepreneurial journey, how to build a bulletproof mindset in order to stay in the game, and using your achievements as fuel for you to keep going.

Even if you don't think you have what it takes to become an entrepreneur - with dedication, patience, and a deep purpose for what you are doing, you can definitely make it as an entrepreneur. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

First class thoughts VS Self-sabotaging thoughts.

Both first class thoughts and self-sabotaging thoughts are powerful in their own way.

One has the ability to derail you and one has the ability to completely change the way you think, how you see the world, and help mould you into the best version of yourself that you were always meant to be.

Both thoughts - have first class gifts to give you if you listen to your thoughts very closely.

First class thoughts are self-empowering thoughts that give you clarity to see the positive in the negative with 2020 vision and help you become the best version of yourself. They reignite that fire within you every single time without fail.

Your inner voice

is calling.

Don’t underestimate the power of your intuition.

We tend to sometimes put logic above the power of your intuition, but in a lot of cases, it’s important to acknowledge that gut instinct - it’s there for a reason. Yes, using logic is vital in making decisions, but sometimes we forget to listen to our intuition.

There might be no logical explanation for it, but I have found that it’s always been right if I truly meditate and focus on it. That inner voice within you is waiting for you to acknowledge it.

Deep down you know the answers and exactly what your next move should be. Listen to that inner voice because it already has the answers, it’s just waiting for you to pick up it’s call ☎️ and listen.

Your inner voice is calling, what are they saying to you when you pick up the phone?

Yumna is an engaging speaker. She captures one from the moment she starts speaking. She has this creativeness of knowing how to be herself and using that to her advantage from the moment she starts speaking. This is so capturing that you will not be able to help, but listen to what she has to deliver with you. I’ve seen Yumna speaking from the beginning and I can only say that she has improved tremendously over the years and this is very evident. She not only improved but she is so knowledgeable at the same time. Her talks are relatable as she shares from her own life experiences and that allows one to be able to follow and understand better.

Whether be it motivational speaking or life coaching or mentorship I would say she gets the job done every single time. Keep it up and can’t wait to see you talk again soon.
